Myrtle C. Cobb

Myrtle C. Cobb, 94, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 6, 1931, in Aline, Georgia, she was the daughter of Toy and Sue Nell Rushing Cobb, but grew up in Glennville. She moved to Savannah when she was 14. Myrtle loved to share stories about her childhood. In 1949, she married Earl E. Cobb from Savannah, and they enjoyed 56 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they had three children: Donna C. Anderson (Larry) of Pooler, Dennis W. Cobb (Lisa) of Brooklet, and Janice M. Taylor (Mike) of Savannah.

In her youth, Myrtle worked at the Custard Bar in Savannah as well as the Victory & Hwy 80 drive-in movie theatre, and the Harvest House. She later retired from Gulfstream. Myrtle was a loving mother, an avid gardener, and enjoyed the outdoors, particularly fishing the local rivers in Savannah. She loved to cook and bake and was the matriarch of the family. She cherished people and loved holding babies on her lap. She will be greatly missed by all.

Myrtle is survived by her grandchildren; Jamie McKee (Garry), Erika Baxter (Daniel), Michael M. Sancomb, III (Gracie), Kriston Palmer (Brian), Joshua Cobb, Michael Taylor Jr. (Jessica), and Tiffany Nutter (Ryan), as well as her great-granddaughter, Lily Palmer. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Evan, Riley, Wesley, Rachel, Abby, Reid, Warren, Jaden, Scarlett, Jake, Reagan, Knox, and Riggs; a brother, Rommie L. Cobb of Savannah; and Lynette Dickerson of Tampa, FL.

In addition to her husband, Myrtle was predeceased by her brothers, Billy, Gene, and Reggie Cobb; a sister, Mary Nell Wright; and a great-granddaughter, Lily Palmer.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care provided to Myrtle by Hospice Savannah and the wonderful home caregivers

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with Rev. Guy Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in Bonaventure Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
